Brother Boonpluke and his wife Sister Rabiab along with their two sons were the first family in Thailand baptized into the church. Brother Boonpluke was the first chairman of the Thai Book of Mormon translation committee.

Sister Srilaksana became the principal translator of the Thai Book of Mormon in 1971. While at first not interested in the message of Elders White and Hansen, she received a powerful testimony at the time she first opened and read from an English copy of the Book of Mormon. This photograph was taken when she was a student at Thammasat University.

Sister Srilaksana was able to read the Book of Mormon in English because of her special upbringing. She was raised from age 6 to 18 by HM Queen Indrasakdi Sachi. When HM King Rama VI died in 1925 the queen was left a widow without children. Srilaksana's father had been the King's physician and her mother was a good friend of the Queen.
